Commander Miranda KeyesMiranda Keyes is the daughter of the late Captain Jacob Keyes. She accepted a medal for her father aboard the Cairo Defense Platform in 2552. Minutes later, she was defending the Cairo and Earth after the Covenant attacked. She helped the Chief get to Earth and then followed Regret's Assault Carrier to Delta Halo.
There she led the UNSC forces in search of Delta Halo's Library to stop the Covenant from activating the ring, but was captured by Tartarus, the Brute Chieftain.
Once the Arbiter and Sgt. Johnson arrived at the Control Room, Tartarus used Keyes to activate the ring's firing sequence, but Keyes was able to stop it seconds before it fired.
